Fall and Winter parties

So - the vibe I'm getting at school is that two of the main parties this year should be referred to as:

Fall Party (or harvest party?)  -- no using "Halloween"

Winter Party - not "Holiday" party


I don't make the rules.......just communicating what I'm hearing.  The tone is a bit different than last year and we need to be respectful of what the administration would prefer us to call certain things.

Is everyone else getting this message too?  Nothing formal has come out, yet.

A little humor for the 1st few weeks of school

HI Everyone - So, I'm new to this blogging thing - but figure I'd better post. The last two weeks has been so crazy for me - anyone else? I saw this article and laughed soooo hard. Thought I'd share. I do need to give a disclaimer - PLEASE DO NOT READ if you are offended by foul language. Also, I would NOT open on a computer screen where a child who can read is nearby/looking over your shoulder. Ok - now that's that done -- this one hit a little too close to home for me. Especially the part about looking like Marylin Manson! Ha Ha!!!

Class Parties

I found out with meeting with Ms. Lane that food is not allowed at the parties (at least in her room). No candy, cookies or any edibles of any kind. I was wondering if the other teachers do this too?
